Who Are “They”?

Armstrong Williams

It’s hot outside. Too hot for a summer stroll or any sort of outdoor activity. So last Sunday morning, I settled in for some riveting Washington talk show action.

Aside from the usual histrionics surrounding the Sherrod racial episode and the “necessary dialogues” on race the mainstream media feels compelled to hold every other month just so it can sleep well at nights, the latest argument to follow in Washington is what to do over the expiring Bush tax cuts…townhall.com

Fidel Castro warns of nuclear war, climate change – ignores Cuba issues

Fidel Castro spoke to Cuba’s Parliament for the first time in four years on Saturday, but once again failed to address domestic issues while expounding on climate change, the threat of nuclear war, and the US role on the world stage.

By Sara Miller Llana, Staff writer / August 8, 2010

Mexico City

In his first official government act in four years, Fidel Castro only spoke for about 10 minutes to the Cuban Parliament Saturday, nowhere near the hours-long orations that marked nearly 50 years of the revolutionary leader’s presidency.

And instead of thundering on about Cuba and the issues that most Cubans care about, including economic reform and freedom of expression, he stayed close to the subjects that have marked his words since ceding power to his younger brother Raúl Castro, including the threat of nuclear war and ..read more CSMonitor.com

Midterm Elections 2010: Marxists vs. Americans

WILL THE RESTORATION OF THE REPUBLIC BEGIN IN

NOVEMBER?

by Sher Zieve, ©2010

(Aug. 9, 2010) — Since the earliest beginnings of the United States of America, our country again has the clearest voting choice in its history.  In November 2010, we can begin to vote for bondage and slavery or freedom and liberty.  We can choose to elect slave masters and overseers or partners in the restoration of our Republic.  We can vote for choices and options or give up our decision- making to others.  We can choose religious freedom or bow to the power elite forcing atheism, Islam or a combination of the two upon us.  On 2 November, we will vote for the Marxist and Maoist totalitarians or Americans…read more The Post & Email

Same-Sex Marriage Judge Finds That a Child Has Neither a Need Nor a Right to a Mother

Monday, August 09, 2010
By Terence P. Jeffrey, Editor-in-Chief

(CNSNews.com) – U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who ruled last week that a voter-approved amendment to California’s constitution that limited marriage to the union of one man and one woman violated the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, based that ruling in part on his finding that a child does not need and has no right to a mother.

Nor, he found, does a child have a need or a right to a father.

“Children do not need to be raised by a male parent and a female parent to be well-adjusted, and…read more (CNSNews.com)

Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., just concluded a 37 minute speech on the floor of the House of Representatives, defending himself while also apologizing for the ethics charges pending against him.

Success is based on productivity, not ‘luck’

A graduating senior at Hunter College High School in New York gave a speech that brought a standing ovation from his teachers and got his picture in the New York Times. I hope it doesn’t go to his head, because what he said was so illogical that it was an indictment of the mush that is being taught at even our elite educational institutions. Young Justin Hudson, described as “black and Hispanic,” opened by saying how much he appreciated reaching his graduation day at this very select public high school. Then he said, “I don’t deserve any of this. And neither do you.” The reason? He and his classmates were there because of “luck and circumstances.” Since Hunter College High School…Read more at the washingtonexaminer.com

Judge overturned Prop. 8 while claiming he wasn’t changing anything

Judge Vaughn R. Walker’s opinion purporting to strike down California’s Proposition 8 ballot initiative banning gay marriage is a screaming advertisement against the appointment and confirmation of renegade judicial activists like Elena Kagan. The labyrinth of twisted reasoning Walker constructs in his opinion is a testament to the depth of deceit that inhabits the modern left’s thought processes. The thinking is so bizarre I can only conclude it is the outworking of the spiritual warfare that hotly rages beneath our sensory perception. It is sheer madness! Just read the sections of the judge’s conclusions of law, “The Right To Marry Protects an Individual’s Choice of Marital…Read more at the washingtonexaminer.com

Advocating morality doesn’t make people bigoted

SAN DIEGO — A nation that does not see in law a right to life for its unborn children and a court that allows more than 50 million of them to be killed claiming a nonexistent “penumbra” in the Constitution is not about to acquire a moral — much less a constitutional — backbone when it comes to same-sex “marriage.” The decision by a single, openly gay federal judge to strike down the will of 7 million Californians, tradition dating back millennia (not to mention biblical commands, which the judge decided, in his capacity as a false god, to also invalidate) is judicial vigilantism equal to Roe v. Wade. As this case proceeds through appeals courts, to think another federal judge, one.Read more at the washingtonexaminer.com

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele used the GOP address Saturday to attack the Obama White House over discussions it had about jobs for Senate candidates to avoid primary showdowns.

Late last month, the White House admitted that it offered an unpaid post last year to Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.), who had been challenging the White House’s favored candidate, Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.), to not enter the race.TheHill.com

Republicans sought to use some of President Obama’s own campaign themes against him on Tuesday, accusing the president of a “deficit of hope” since taking office.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) released a new Web video this morning reviving the “O-ba-ma” chants Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) used in a controversial ad against Obama in the 2008 presidential election.

The new video features the chants of acclaim for Obama, which shift into jeers as a series of negative statistics and figures flash across the screen…TheHill.com

Money and the State

By Vasko Kohlmayer

In the introduction to What Has Government Done to Our Money, Murray Rothbard – one of last century’s most brilliant economists – made an incisive observation. Rothbard noticed that most people, including most of those who consider themselves free marketers, “never think of state control of money as interference in the free market.” CanadaFreePress

The Patriot’s Cry, “Save America!” can be heard across the land.

The Free World watches as without America there is no Free World.

Knowing what is happening in President Barack Obama’s unsolicited Transformation of America, is finding the way out of the dark and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to freedom from being forced under the boot of Socialism, the trap of the masses.

The Cold War is not over; only the characters have changed in the same long-running play.

The reality of America Today has been documented by Curtis Bowers.

Obama’s – True Black Royalty

Posted on Friday, August 6th, 2010 by Kevin Jackson

I’d be curious to know how many vacations the average black person has taken in the last 18 months.  The eight vacations the Obamas have taken are more vacations taken by half the black population of America in the same timeframe! I know of NO working person who has taken EIGHT vacations in EIGHTEEN months. When you take that many vacations, vacationing is your JOB!..read more THE BLACKSPHERE

Top 10 Reasons for Obama’s Jobless Recovery

by  Donald Lambro
08/09/2010
1. Stimulus package didn’t stimulate: The economy is growing too slowly under President Obama’s failed government-spending stimulus because it lacks any incentives for increased private investment, risk taking, venture-capital formation and new business formation, the basis of new job creation. The mediocre economic-growth rate is not strong enough to drive down a nearly 10% unemployment rate.

2. Business uncertainty: Widespread uncertainty across the business community about Obama’s job-killing tax, spending and regulatory agenda that has prevented businesses from expanding and hiring more workers and reinvesting an estimated $1.8 trillion in reserve funds…..read more Human Events

Obama Jobs Deficit Jumps Unexpectedly, ‘Recovery Summer’ a Pipe Dream

The Obama administration announced “Recovery Summer” in June to highlight the expected gains in jobs and economic strength resulting from the stimulus. Well, maybe next summer.

Initial estimates from the Department of Labor suggest the economy shed a whopping 131,000 jobs in July while employment for the prior two months was revised down by 97,000 jobs. The unemployment rate held steady in August at 9.5 percent despite a drop in employment, because the number of people in the workforce also declined as workers apparently gave up in the face of persistent unemployment…read more NRO
